You can change your character class in one of two ways. In the first method, you can access the player menu (select the player portrait at the top-left corner of the screen) and then select the "Class" tab. Select the arrows next to the character class (depending on your progress, it may say Trooper, Force Adept, Support or Agent) and swipe through the various classes. Once you see the class you want to play as, you can equip any weapons or skills you want. In the second method, you can change your character class before you enter a HoloSim. In this HoloSim lobby, select "Class" in the lower left to change your character class. Note: Character classes are unlocked by meeting certain Star requirements and speaking to Class Masters.
