Sure you can! Every type of Token in the game is collectible. 

How can I get Tokens?

Just have your ponies complete certain tasks and once they're finished, there's a chance you'll get the Token listed for that task! 

Do I get Tokens every time I have a character do a task?

Not every time, no. Having a character do a task gives you a CHANCE of getting the Token. 

I don't want to spend my Tokens to welcome a character... Can I welcome them in any other way?

Sure! You can also spend Gems to welcome an item-locked character, if you want. 

I can see tokens in the requirements. Which characters can I send to get them?

Tap on the Earn icon in the requirement menu and a pop-up will show you the whole list of characters that can gather this token.
