You need to follow Flynn to the vault for this mission, while also listening to Merida and Flynn talk in the first Everafter trial scene, to complete the Merida mission. The Characters cannot do both actions at the same time, and listening takes priority. However, if you listen to Merida and Flynn to finish the mission, Flynn will then follow you to the vault.
