To complete the quest, simply move the furniture that isn't being counted from the edge of the room closer to the center of the stage. This should ensure all 6 items are registered, allowing you to complete the quest.
When decorating for the pop concert, only 5 out of 6 items are registered for the "Get Up and Glow!" quest.
